The beaches

You will be spoilt for choice!

In Carantec you will find 7 beaches suitable for bathing, not to mention Callot's coves.

To inquire about the weather on the beaches, please consult the Meteo France website: www.meteofrance.com
To make sure of the good quality of bathing water, please consult the Ministry of Health website: http://baignades.sante.gouv.fr
As regards tides, please consult the Marine Oceanographic and Hydrographic Service website: www.shom.fr   
Carantec is indexed on the port of Roscoff.

In the interest of public hygiene and safety, we inform you that dogs are not allowed on beaches from 1st May to 30th September.

Kelenn Beach

Access by the "rue du Kélenn", ample parking.
Beach facing North-East.

In July and August, beach supervised by lifeguards.

Lifeguard station open every day from 12:00 to 19:00.

A floating beach chair is available free of charge.
 
Facilities and leisure:
• diving board
• showers and toilets
• water sports centre open all year round: sailing school, "point passion plage", nautical club and diving centre
• beach club and "moussaillons" club for children in July and August
• kayak, inflatable boat, jet ski and bicycle rentals in July and August.
• Children's playground and picnic area
• beach huts (information at Tourist Office)
• access to coastal path (GR 34).

Several restaurants/bars welcome you from March to October.

Grève Blanche beach

Access by the "rue de la grève blanche" for vehicles, car park; by the coastal path and the passage ways between Kermenguy street villas for pedestrians.

Clouët Beach

Access by the "rue du Clouët", beach facing the East.

Facilities:

• ample parking
• toilets
• sea water pool
• Youth activity centre (Information from Town hall)

Penker and Cosmeur beaches

Access by the coastal path or by the Chemin du Penquer, beaches facing Northwest.

Tahiti Beach

Access by steps from Pen al Lann point.
Beach oriented North and facing Louët island.

Pors Pol Beach

Access by the coastal path through the "rue de la Chaise du Curé" or by the Grève Blanche beach.

Beaches and coves on Callot island

Callot island, accessible at low tide, boasts of numerous beaches of fine sand and preserved protected coves.
