Carantec today has 3100 inhabitants and is a resort open all year round.
With over 10 restaurants, from Michelin 2 star gourmet to crêperies, many services and a very active community life, the township offers all the necessary facilities to ensure you an enjoyable stay in the bay of Morlaix.
Today, the economic activity is essentially orientated towards tourism.
However, there exist some fifteen farms situated in the vegetable-growing area of Léon, cultivating mostly artichokes, cauliflowers and shallots, fifteen or so oyster farms and shellfish merchants, around ten professional fishing boats and several ship builders, a traditional activity in Carantec.
